ENR provides information on the NWT Protected Areas Strategy, Forest Management, Wildlife, Environmental Protection and Assessment. The Mackenzie Valley Land and Water Board regulates the use of land and waters in the Mackenzie Vally. The Mackenzie Valley Environmental Impact Review Board conducts environmental assessments of developments in the Mackenzie Valley and makes recommendations to mitigate the impacts caused by development.
