EDMONTON (January 22, 2016) — Representatives from the GNWT’s Come Make Your Mark campaign were at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) this week to generate excitement and awareness about living and working in Canada’s Northwest Territories.
The retention and attraction of a trained resident workforce is a foundational priority of the NWT Economic Opportunities Strategy and supports efforts to encourage NWT population growth.
“A growing population is critical to maintaining and expanding the NWT’s economic base,” said Minister of Industry, Tourism and Investment (ITI) Bob McLeod. “It will provide links to government revenues and increase consumer demand, providing more opportunities for investment and diversification.”
The Come Make Your Mark Campaign (comemakeyourmark.ca) is funded by ITI in support of growth and diversity within the economy. It works in partnership with employers to promote the NWT as a preferred destination for career growth and a quality family lifestyle.
Come Make Your Mark’s next event will be at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology Career Fair in March, 2016.
