December 2, 2010 - Improvements to the procurement chapter of the Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT) will be a major focus for the Minister of Industry, Tourism and Investment, Bob McLeod, at the upcoming Committee on Internal Trade (CIT) Annual Meeting.
The AIT is based on the principle that Canadian governments should ensure the free movement of persons, goods, services and investments across the country by removing barriers to internal trade. Updating the AIT will improve the flow of goods, services and movement of people between provinces and territories.
Minister McLeod will also be appointed to the position of vice-chair for the CIT at the meeting. His term as vice-chair will run from December 2010 to December 2011.
