NORMAN WELLS, NWT (April 13, 2016) – Residents in Norman Wells and Inuvik will have an opportunity to meet face-to-face with the Premier and all Ministers of the Government of the Northwest Territories Cabinet (GNWT) this week.
As part of its commitment to government openness and accessibility, the GNWT is hosting open houses in Norman Wells and Inuvik following bilateral meetings with Aboriginal governments being held in each community. The open houses are an opportunity for local residents to discuss their own issues and priorities directly with members of Cabinet in an informal setting meant to promote dialogue.
Residents in Norman Wells will have their opportunity to meet the Premier and Cabinet on the evening of April 13 from 7:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Legion Hall. The public meeting in Inuvik is scheduled for April 15 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Mackenzie Grill in the Mackenzie Hotel.
“Cabinet made a commitment at the beginning of the 18th Legislative Assembly and in its mandate to be a more open and accessible government. These open houses will give all Ministers a chance to hear about the everyday concerns and priorities of residents in Norman Wells and Inuvik and help us ensure GNWT decisions reflect the interests of the whole NWT.”
