Call for nominations for the 2016 NWT Outstanding Volunteer Awards

YELLOWKNIFE (January 14, 2016) – Municipal and Community Affairs (MACA), is now accepting nominations for the Northwest Territories (NWT) Outstanding Volunteer Awards. This year marks the 26th year of this award, which recognizes the remarkable contributions volunteers make in communities across the NWT.

Residents are encouraged to nominate an elder, youth, individual, or group volunteer in their communities. This program acknowledges individuals who donate their time to improve the quality of life for NWT residents. 

“We have a strong and dedicated volunteer sector here in the Northwest Territories,” said Municipal and Community Affairs Minister Robert C. McLeod. “The Outstanding Volunteer Awards are a great opportunity to recognize the effort and commitment of these volunteers, and to show our appreciation for all their hard work.”

Awards are presented in the following categories:

  • Elder Volunteer Award
  • Youth Volunteer Award
  • Individual Volunteer Award
  • Group Volunteer Award

The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 25, 2016.
