NWT Agricultural Conference Focuses on Business of Food Production

HAY RIVER (October 13, 2017) – The Northwest Territories’ (NWT) first Agriculture Conference to focus on food growers and producers is taking place in Hay River, October 13-15, 2017.

A variety of sessions take place throughout the conference with a central theme of helping farmers and producers to grow their businesses. Topics include: panel discussions on raising chickens and beekeeping, northern agriculture research, greenhouse management, cold storage and root cellars, the business of farming and a review of the Growing Forward 2 Program.

The NWT Agriculture Conference is an opportunity for NWT growers to connect and learn from one another. The conference is one of the ways that the Government of the Northwest Territories is building capacity in commercial agriculture and food production, a focus of the NWT Agriculture Strategy.
