About the Job
The mandate of the Department of Justice is to administer justice, including policing, community justice, victims services and corrections in the Northwest Territories. This mandate will be carried out in a manner which respects community and aboriginal values and encourages communities to assume increasing responsibilities.
The Bilingual Land Titles Clerk provides clerical support in the administration of the Land Titles Act and Condominium Act by ensuring that documents accepted for registration are processed quickly and accurately. The Clerk is responsible for the initial intake of all documents submitted for registration, the preparation and entry of documents into the Daybook and facilitating the public’s access and searches of the Land Registry.
Reporting to the Deputy Registrar of Land Titles the Bilingual Land Titles Clerk is responsible for 1) the provision of search services for the public, 2) responding to or redirecting enquiries from clients, 3) the initial intake of documents, 4) quickly and accurately preparing all documentation necessary (according to the nature of the document submitted) for the final review by the Deputy Registrar in order to ensure the completion of registration within 48 hours of submission of documents, 5) administering correspondence from the office, 6) receiving and accounting for funds, and 7) providing administrative support to the Registrar.
Typically, The Above Qualifications Would Be Attained By:
Grade 12 with 2 years of general clerical experience in a comparable work environment (for example: in a conveyancing law section in a law office).
Transfer Assignments may be considered.
This job opening requires candidate to be fluent both orally and written in both English and French.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
The salary range for this position is from $30.03 per hour to $35.85 per hour (approximately $58,559 - $69,908) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,450.
