This job opening is limited to residents living within 25 kilometres of Invuik.
Reporting to the Manager of Operations, the Contract Administrator plays a key role in the functioning of numerous programs and services within the NTHSSA. The contract administrator acts as both program contacts for numerous services contracts related to the operation of the facilities and equipment, as well as a key support to NTHSSA managers who are delivering services via contracts and contribution agreements. The position is responsible for overseeing the delivery of service contracts for the NTHSSA including housekeeping, kitchen, laundry, security and reception and ambulance services for the Hospital as well as a 18 bed transient unit which is a boarding home for patients travelling to Inuvik to receive medical services.
The Contract Administrator is responsible for the oversight of the RFP and contracting processes and ensuring GNWT policies and procedures are followed. It also ensures NTHSSA contractors fulfill their contractual commitments and services provided to meet the needs of the clients and the authority. The NTHSSA annually has approximately 20 contracts which amount to a total of $7,000,000.
Oversees the Administration of Contracts to external service providers.
Oversees the housekeeping, dietary, laundry, transient center, ambulance and security and reception and morgue contracts for the NTHSSA.
Acts as the program contact for service contracts related to the operation of NTHSSA equipment and facilities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Sound knowledge of contracts and contract processes.
• Experience in the delivery of support services preferably in a heath care setting.
• Strong ability to work in a team environment.
• Knowledge of tender/contract procedures and policies and contract administration.
• Knowledge of Business incentive policy.
• Knowledge of contract law.
• Demonstrated understanding of finance and administrative polices.
• Knowledge of applicable sections of the Financial Administration Manual.
• Working knowledge in computer software, including excel.
• Strong computer skills.
Typically, the above qualifications are attained by:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Hospital Administration.
Five (3) years’ experience in contract management, property management or business administration.
Five (2) years of supervisory experience.
Experience in a cross-cultural setting would be an asset.
Experience within an acute care hospital setting would be an asset.
This job opening is for a term to January 2019.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
The salary for this position starts at $40.85 per hour (approximately $79,657.50. per annum) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $13,924.
