About the Job
The Bureau of Statistics develops, analyzes and disseminates statistical information; provides advice and assistance to government departments; and represents territorial statistical interests at federal-provincial meetings on statistics.

The NWT Bureau of Statistics requires Community Interviewers to conduct the 2019 NWT Community Survey between January and March 2019. The survey collects important information on housing conditions, labour force activity, education, traditional activities, languages and a variety of other topics.
Community Interviewers will be required to conduct in-person interviews in various communities across the NWT. Interviewing work requires walking door-to-door, interacting with people and maintaining accurate records of survey operations. Interviewers must be available to work afternoons, evenings & weekends. The ability to travel to NWT communities (sometimes in small aircrafts) for extended periods is required, however local work may also be available.
Working with the public, having previous experience with statistical surveys and holding a valid driver’s license would be an asset.

• Be dependable and able to follow instructions
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Be comfortable working on a tablet and sending emails
• Maintain accurate records of survey operations
• Have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Understand confidentiality and be able to keep information collected private and confidential at all times

Salary starts at $26.37 per hour, plus Northern Allowance applicable to the community of hire.
