About the Job

Job Information

The Intern - Workplace Support Analyst provides information technology infrastructure support and desktop management administration to employees of the Government of the Northwest Territories, with workplace site visits in order to ensure that all employees have continual access to and technical support on the workstations they require to do their jobs in an efficient and effective manner.

This position will provide on-site technical support of a routine nature to all clients of the TSC requiring hands on technical support or assistance with moderate supervision. They also provide desktop management administrative support to all clients of the TSC with moderate supervision.

Typically the above qualifications would be attained by:
Completion of a certificate in computer science or information systems.

Department Information

The Department of Infrastructure (INF) provides high quality services to the public and Government of the Northwest Territories’ (GNWT) departments, boards and agencies including the planning, design, construction, acquisition, operation and maintenance of public transportation infrastructure and the buildings, works and equipment required for the GNWT to deliver its programs and services. INF makes essential petroleum products available for sale to the public where these products are not provided by the private sector, and promotes the development and increased use of energy efficient technologies.  INF also regulates electrical and mechanical safety services and licenses individuals and vehicles operating in the territory.

Intern placements are available to Northern graduates.  A northern graduate is an individual who has graduated with a diploma or degree from a designated post-secondary institution within a 24 month period prior to applying to the Internship Program or will complete all academic requirements for his/her program within 6 months of applying to the Internship Program. Salary Information

The salary for this position starts at $32.28 per hour to $38.54 per hour, (approximately $62,623 - $75,153 per annum) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3450.

Term Position

This job opening is for a possible two year term.
