About the Job

Job Information

The Intern-Financial Analysis responsible for providing financial support services to 24 Local Housing Organizations (LHO's) located across the NWT. Located in the Finance and Infrastructure Division of the NWTHC headquarters in Yellowknife and reports to the Senior Financial Reporting Advisor.

This position has supervised contact on an ongoing basis with the LHO Managers, NWTHC Finance, Programs and District Operations staff and Government of the Northwest Territories Department of Finance staff. The duties of this position have an impact on Local Housing Organizations across the NWT, who as agents of the NWTHC, provide public affordable housing services at the community level.

Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
The completion of a Commerce/Business degree with a concentration in Accounting. Enrollment in the CPA Professional Education Program or CPA Canada Advanced Certificate in Accounting and Finance and one year cumulative work experience in a financial, accounting and/or office environment would be considered an asset.

Intern placements are available to Northern graduates.  A northern graduate is an individual who has graduated with a diploma or degree from a designated post-secondary institution within a 24 month period prior to applying to the Internship Program or will complete all academic requirements for his/her program within 6 months of applying to the Internship Program. Salary Information

The salary range for this position is from $33.44 per hour to $39.93 per hour (approximately $65,208 - $77,863.50) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3450.

Term Position

This job opening is for a possible two year term.
