The Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment (ITI) works through wide-ranging partnerships and initiatives to deliver quality programs and services that promote and support economic development, diversification and prosperity in the interest of Northwest Territories residents – their businesses and communities.
Located in Yellowknife, reporting to the Director, Economic Diversification, and directly guided by the Manager, Traditional Economy, Agriculture and Fish (Manager, TEAF), the Intern, Economic Diversification Clerk (Intern)will participate in preparing, verifying and processing financial documents; financial administration of the CAP program; control and reconciliation of accounts payable; and assisting with the entry and verification of financial data for the Economic Diversification Division. These two separate programs have separate timelines and workload demands.
The Intern, Economic Diversification Clerk assists with the provision of financial and administrative support as well as and data entry and reporting for two separate programs. Preparing and processing financial documents for both Agriculture and Traditional Economy (Fur), the incumbent assists with ensuring that all financial transactions are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with GNWT acts, regulations, policies and departmental procedures. Also, the position provides assistance to ensure that agriculture reporting requirements are done in accordance with the Canadian Agriculture Program (CAP) guidelines and the Canada/NWT Bilateral Agreement.

The incumbent would normally attain the required knowledge and skills through completion of a Business Administration Diploma.
This job opening is for a 2 Year Term.
The salary for this position starts at $31.16 per hour (approximately $60,762 per annum) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,450.
