This job opening is limited to residents living within 25 kilometres of Wrigley
The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) offers challenging and exciting careers in health and social services delivery and administration in Canada’s North.
Reporting directly to the Nurse in Charge, Regional Home Care Services, you will provide culturally sensitive respite and activities of daily living care to clients of the Homecare Program. You will be a memeber of a multidisciplinary team who provides direct personalized care to residents who have care needs that are well defined. You will act as a client advocate and facilitate communication between the client, family and other health care professionals. As a member of the multidisciplinary team, you will be an integral member of a holistic approach to planning, organizing, teaching and relationship development that best meets the needs of the clients.
Knowledge of and an ability to apply First Aid and CPR, the ability to speak, read and write English and the ability to speak and understand the local Aboriginal language are required. Typically the above qualifications would be attained through the completion of a Personal Support Worker Program or equivalent supplemented by 6 months of experience providing home support services.

This Job opening is for a Part-time position (20 hours of work per week)
Driver's License Requirement
A mandatory requirement for this position is a valid Class 5 Driver's License
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
The salary for this position starts at $31.16 per hour plus an annual Northern Allowance of $8.29 per hour
