Intern placements are available to Northern graduates. A northern graduate is an individual who has graduated with a diploma or degree from a designated post-secondary institution within a 24 month period prior to applying to the Internship Program or will complete all academic requirements for his/her program within 6 months of applying to the Internship Program. The Northwest Territories Housing Corporation provides access to adequate, suitable and affordable housing through the provision of housing programs and services based on need.
The Intern - Technical Advisor will provide support and assistance to the Technical Divisions. Duties of the role could include assessment of conditions ratings, assisting in preparing scope or work based on conditions ratings, and working on tender documents.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Must have some familiarity with building construction, renovation, and/or maintenance system.
-Good computer skills
-Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
-Must have the ability to work independently.
-Must have the initiative to work in a team environment
-Ability to operate effectively in a cross-cultural environment
Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
A relevant diploma, trade or degree.
This job opening is for a possible two year term.
The salary range for this position is from $34.67 per hour to $41.38 per hour (approximately $67,606.50 - $80,691) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3450.
