About the Job
The mandate of the Department of Justice is to administer justice, including policing, community justice, victims services and corrections in the Northwest Territories. This mandate will be carried out in a manner which respects community and aboriginal values and encourages communities to assume increasing responsibilities.
The Program Supervisor reports to the Assistant Warden and is located in Yellowknife. This position will supervise three (3) Program Delivery Officers. This position will also manage the Chaplaincy contract.
The Program Supervisor is responsible for specialized rehabilitative programs and educational programs to persons in custody in the facility and community. The Program Supervisor develops yearly program plans, persons in custody programs for Adult and Youth units, maintains a system of quality assurance in the delivery and content of specialized programs and ensures that daily evaluations and program preparation is completed. The Program Supervisor maintains ongoing communication with the Case Management Supervisor to ensure appropriate programs are being delivered to meet persons in custody needs.
Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
A Diploma in a related field combined with 4 years of progressively more responsible experience with demonstrated skill in current case management / program facilitation practices in the Corrections / Social Services field. Two years of supervisory experience.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
The salary for this position starts at $ 42.75 per hour (approximately $83,362.50. per annum) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $ 3,450.00.
