The NTHSSA is the single provider of all health and social services in the Northwest Territories (NWT), with the exception of the Hay River and Tlicho regions, and was established to move toward one integrated delivery system as part of the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWTS) transformation strategy.  Health and social services includes the full range of primary, secondary and tertiary health and social services. 

The Territorial Infection  Prevention  and  Control  Coordinator  - Acute  Care  Stanton  is accountable for working collaboratively with the Territorial Infection Prevention and Control Coordinator - Acute Care Beaufort Delta and other stakeholders to ensure that Infection Prevention and Control standards are upheld in  the provision  of  Acute  Care  services  by providing support and advice on incident  management  and  all aspects of Infection  Prevention and Control in Acute Care services at Stanton Territorial Hospital and across the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA).

Reporting to the Territorial Manager, Infection Prevention and Control of the NTHSSA, the Territorial Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Coordinator - Acute Care Stanton is located  in Yellowknife  at the Stanton Territorial  Hospital and is responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating  the  NTHSSA IPAC Acute Care programs in Stanton and throughout  the Territory in  collaboration  with  the Territorial IPAC Coordinator - Acute Care Beaufort Delta, as well as conducting in-depth investigations into all patient  safety  incidents,  and  unusual  occurrences related to IPAC at STH and supporting investigations in the rest of NTHSSA, Hay River and Tlicho regions.

Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and a minimum of three (3) years work-related experience in a health or social services discipline.

Salary Information

The salary range for this position is from $46.52 per hour to $55.57 per hour (approximately $90,714.00 - $108,362.00.) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,70.00.
