Job Information

Applicants:

• Must hold, or be eligible for an NWT Teaching Certificate;
• Must hold an NWT Principal Certification or enroll in the training program;
• Should have 5 years minimum five years experience teaching at various levels;
• Must provide leadership in a professional, cooperative and supportive manner;
• Should have training and teaching experience in cross-cultural and multi-grade classroom situations.
• Must demonstrate active and consistent professional development;
•Must promote the involvement of parents in a positive and supportive manner;
•Should promote and provide leadership for an inclusionary model of education;
•Should have proven experience of at least three years as an educational leader in the role of principal, assistant principal, or other administrative position;
•Should have training and teaching experience in a cross-cultural, classroom situation;
•Should have knowledge of and/or experience with Balanced Literacy, Effective Behavior Support and FAS strategies will be given preference;

Salary Information

Salary is pro-rated dependent on verified education and experience (ranging from $80,180 to 129,448 per annum) plus an annual pro-rated Northern Allowance based on the NWTTA Collective Agreement.

Eligibility lists may be created from this competition to fill future term and indeterminate positions.
