NTHSSA – Yellowknife Region delivers and administers Population Health, Primary Health Care and Social Services programs in the communities of Dettah, Fort Resolution, Lutselk’e, Ndilo and Yellowknife.

Working a consistent Monday to Friday schedule, the Public Health Nurse plays a critical role in maintaining the health of community members in Yellowknife, N'Dilo, and Dettah. As the successful applicant, you will be responsible to promote the health of individuals, families, and their communities by practicing in a variety of different settings. In collaboration with a diverse team, you will develop, deliver, and evaluate a wide range of health promotion interventions and disease prevention strategies.
To be successful, you must be knowledgeable of and proficient in all of the program areas delivered by the Unit. In addition to the general knowledge, you will be assigned to one of the following teams: Communicable Disease; Maternal Child; or Child and Adolescent Health. As a registered nurse with advanced education and training, you will act as a resource for public health knowledge and practice by providing leadership and expertise in the field of public health.
In order to be successful in this role, we require the completion of a BScN or BN nursing degree program with two (2) years of nursing experience in a public health or community health environment. You must also be eligible for registration with the RNANT/NU, provide a completed satisfactory criminal record check, and possess a Class 5 driver's license.

The salary range for this position is from $44.43 per hour to $53.06 per hour (approximately $86,639 to 103,467) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.00.
Driver's License Requirement
A mandatory requirement for this position is a valid Class 5 Driver's License.
Transfer Assignments may be considered.
