The Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment (ITI) works through wide-ranging partnerships and initiatives to deliver quality programs and services that promote and support economic development, diversification and prosperity in the interest of Northwest Territories residents – their businesses and communities.
The intern position is primarily responsible for assisting with administering economic immigration and investment programs, including the Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP) Business Stream, in order to increase the population, economic development and employment opportunities in the NWT. The intern will also have the opportunity to work in other key economic development program areas including trade, manufacturing, business support programming and the knowledge economy.
The intern position is located in Yellowknife and reports to the Manager, Trade and Business Immigration. The intern is responsible for assisting with delivering and administering immigration and investment programs, including the NTNP program, to increase population growth and business and employment opportunities in the NWT. This involves providing assistance on related legislation, regulations and strategies; maintaining the immigration electronic information system; implementing a communications and promotion strategy; and reporting on immigration and investment programs.
Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by a relevant undergraduate Degree in an educational discipline such as Finance, Economics, Business Administration or Management.

This job opening is for a 2 Year Term.
The salary for this position starts at $36.03 per hour (approximately $70,259. per annum) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
