Casual - Personal Support Worker (Acute & Long Term Care)
The PSW is a member of a multidisciplinary team who provides direct personalized care to residents who have care needs that are stable. The PSW acts as a client advocate and facilitates communication between the client, family, and other health care professionals. As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the PSW is an integral member of a holistic approach to planning, organizing, teaching and relationship development that best meets the needs of clients. The PSW ensures client's safety and comfort, maintains personal hygiene, facilitates physical activity, and promotes the independence and mental well-being of the client in a respectful and compassionate manner.
Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
Personal Support Worker certificate or equivalent from an educational institute as approved by NTHSSA OR equivalent relevant work experience.
