Superintendent, South Slave
Located in Fort Smith and reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Economic Development, the Regional Superintendent is responsible for the development, implementation and adminstration of Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment (ITI) regional economic and business development strategies, policies, programs and services to support individuals, businesses, communities and regions in achieving their economic goals.
The position provides senior level expertise, advice and breifing materials to the Minister, Deputy Minister and Assistant Deputy Minister on activities with the region including those that are highly political in nature. The position also provides expert advice on strategic regional economic development and tourism planning and growth initiatives; and oversees the implementation, delivery and evaluation of economic development, tourism and business programs and services. Direction and management of Territorial Parks and enforcement of the NWT Tourism Act through licensing and registration of tourism operators are also the responsiblity of the position.
Typically the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform this role are obtained through the following:
- completion of a post-secondary degree program in Business Management, Resource Management or Commerce or a related combination of formal education; AND
- a minimum of ten years of progressive experience with a minimum of three years in a management capacity.

The salary range for this position is from $59.81 per hour to $85.44 per hour (approximately $116,630 - $166,608.) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $6,406.
