Join our health care team as a Registered Nurse (RN). Stanton Territorial Hospital (STH) is a 100 in-patient bed accredited facility, located in Yellowknife Northwest Territories (NWT). STH is the referral center for approximately 43,000 NWT residents and 5,900 residents from the Kitikmeot Region of Nunavut. STH provides health care services to adults and children on an inpatient/outpatient and outreach basis in order to restore health with dignity. STH maintains a tobacco free environment within the building and throughout the property, recognizing the health hazards associated with tobacco in the workplace, both to smokers and non-smokers alike. The Obstetrical Unit averages 600 births per year with an average of 5 clients on the unit on any given day. The Registered Nurse, Obstetrics, must have completed specialized training in order to provide labour and delivery support to mothers during the birthing process. As the successful incumbent, you will work in one of the following three areas:
1. Labour and Delivery section (considered a critical care area);
2. Nursery (considered a critical care area); and
3. Antenatal and postnatal combined care.
As the Registered Nurse on Obstetrics, you may be responsible for up to 10 clients at any given time and will independently make day to day decisions regarding individual nursing care plans based on orders from the physician.
Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
A Nursing Degree with at least one (1) year of experience in obstetrics or a Nursing Degree and eligible for enrolment in the Stanton Territorial Hospital Extended Mentorship Program in Obstetrics.

The salary range for this position is from $47.68 per hour to $56.96 per hour (approximately $92,976 - $111,072) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
