At the Department of Lands, we strive to be leaders and innovators in northern land and resource management. We have five regional offices, and are headquartered in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Despite being a small department, with approximately 150 employees, we carry out a diverse set of land management functions within the government. We offer many opportunities to be involved with a variety of different aspects to public land management.
The Department’s key activities include:
•coordination of government’s role in land use planning and environmental assessment
•public land administration
•compliance and enforcement of activities on public land
•provision of information and technology services to support the natural resources management functions of three GNWT departments

Job Information
The Senior Strategic Planning, Reporting & Evaluation Analyst provides analysis and advice in the development and modification of departmental policies, standards, procedures, and the formulation of principles and setting objectives with respect to desired policy and legislative results. This includes the development, review, and implementation of Business Plans; HR Plans; operating policies; and identification, assessment, and mitigation of risk associated with departmental activities. The incumbent's advice and analysis plays a key role in setting direction for departmental actions and furthering the strategic goals and priorities of the Department of Lands and the GNWT.
In order to be successful in this role, we require the completion of a bachelor's degree in business management, public administration, economics, or a related field, along with at least five years of broad professional experience in economic development, policy development, and interdisciplinary research.

Salary Information
The salary range for this position is from $52.22 per hour to $62.37 per hour (approximately $101,829 - $121,622) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
