The Department of Health and Social Services works under the direction of the Minister and Deputy Minister, in partnership with the Health and Social Services Authorities, to support the health and wellbeing of people across the NWT through planning, development, evaluation and reporting on program and service delivery.

Job Information
As the Public Guardian Assistant, you will provide the Public Guardian with support and program coordination to ensure that the guardianship program and services are administered. You will facilitate the processing, filing and service of public and private guardianship application documents. You'll also be the initial contact for office inquiries about the guardianship program. Those contacts may require meetings with family members of guardianship clients to explain the guardianship program and provide guardianship application documents for signing and swearing, before filing them in court as a part of the guardianship application.
Typically, the qualifications for this position would be acquired by:
Achieving a legal secretarial diploma or certificate; or office administration certificate with several years (four or more) experience in office administration and at least two years' experience in a legal environment resulting in knowledge of courts and the court system; computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets and database programs.

Salary Information
The salary range for this position is from $34.39 per hour to $41.07 per hour (approximately $67,061 - $80,087) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
