At the Department of Lands, we strive to be leaders and innovators in northern land and resource management. We have five regional offices, and are headquartered in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Despite being a small department, with approximately 150 employees, we carry out a diverse set of land management functions within the government. As the Geomatics Analyst, you will be responsible to develop and implement Geomatics related projects; data management; provide advice, recommendations and assistance to the Manager of Geomatics and Information Technology, the Land Administration division, departmental clients and other governments and agencies.
Typically, the qualifications for this position would be attained either by:
A Bachelor degree in natural resources in geography, environmental science or a related field or in information management or GIS with accompanying background in one of the above. With demonstrated skill, with at least three (3) years full-time experience working with ESRI GIS technology including representing, digitizing, creating, editing, converting and documenting spatial data, and producing hardcopy and on-line GIS map products. A Community College Diploma in Computer Science, Remote Sensing, Geographic Information Systems or Geomatics with a minimum of five (5) years full-time related technology and development/implementation experience working with ESRI GIS technology including representing, digitizing, creating, editing, converting and documenting spatial data, and producing hardcopy and on-line GIS map products. Sound understanding of GIS concepts and terminology.

The salary range for this position is from $52.22 per hour to $62.37 per hour (approximately $101,829 - $121,622 anually) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
