Job Information

Reporting to the Manager of Northern Distance Learning (NDL) and located in Inuvik, NT. The Technology Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of technology needs and requirements for the ongoing implementation and expansion of NDL together with participating education bodies and the NDL working group.

Specifically, the NDL Technology Coordinator would be responsible to help establish appropriate GNWT digital services for NDL at the Technology Services Centre (TSC), including communications with Information Systems and Shared Services (ISSS); build, back up, and manage the programs bridge that provides different "classroom" over the digital network; determine the business requirements and coordinating the use of the Virtual Private Network (VPN) contract; interact regularly with the Online and Blended Learning (OBL) Coordinator, who will help teachers transition into the various learning technologies; work within the current student information system: PowerSchool; support teachers and student devices and communication collaboration tools, and manage their deployment, setup and ever-greening.

Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:

Enrollment in, or completion of a Diploma in Computer Science, Education Technologies or related field, and three (3) years of related work experience, including a minimum of one (1) year of successful technology support experience within a Northern school context.. Preference will be given to a candidate who has experience maintaining both IT and infrastructures and or enterprise security technologies. Proficiency of the incumbent in at least one NWT Indigenous language or French would be an asset.
