Registrar, Communications Planning
The Department of Executive and Indigenous Affairs works to provide overall management and direction to the Executive branch of the Government of the Northwest Territories. The Department is responsible for: coordinating and supporting the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of initiatives and actions in support of cross-government goals The Department is responsible for ensuring mutually respectful intergovernmental relations between the territorial government and Aboriginal, provincial, territorial and national and international governments are maintained; along with negotiating and implementing land, resources And self-government agreements that address Aboriginal rights in the Northwest Territories.
The Registrar, Communications Planning is responsible for administering the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) communications planning process in accordance with the GNWT Communications Policy and supporting directives, guidelines and processes. The position is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate information about the status of government communications planning initiatives is available to senior managers and communications staff across government by managing the flow of information and documents in the GNWT Communications Planning Portal (the ‘Portal’).
Reporting to the Director, Corporate Communications, this position provides direct administrative support to the Director, Corporate Communications and for overseeing the operation of the Government of the Northwest Territories’ Communications Planning Portal (the ‘Portal’).
The duties of the position include receiving and recording departmental communications planning submissions to the GNWT’s Communications Portal, management and maintenance of the Portal, scheduling and organizing check-in meetings with departmental communications staff, recording, editing and distributing check-in meeting minutes.
The position is also responsible for providing overall administrative and support services to the Corporate Communications division.
Typically attained by:
The completion of an administration or secretarial diploma and three years of related experience providing administrative support.

The salary range for this position is from $33.70 per hour to $40.24 per hour (approximately $65,715 - $78,468.) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
