Department Information

The Department of Executive and Indigenous Affairs works to provide overall management and direction to the Executive branch of the Government of the Northwest Territories. The Department is responsible for:  coordinating and supporting the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of initiatives and actions in support of cross-government goals The Department is responsible for ensuring mutually respectful intergovernmental relations between the territorial government and Aboriginal, provincial, territorial and national and international governments are maintained; along with negotiating and implementing land, resources And self-government agreements that address Aboriginal rights in the Northwest Territories.

Job Information

You will be part of the dynamic Corporate Communications team within the Department of Executive and Indigenous Affairs, which aims to support strategic and efficient public communications across the GNWT by working with colleagues to consistently plan, implement and monitor communications activities within an ever-changing communications landscape. You will be providing digital communications advice, guidance, and project management support to the GNWT communications community areas of digital media, social media and web presence.

To be successful in this role, you would typically have a diploma in technology, digital marketing, social media or a related field, and two (2) years of relevant digital/social media experience.
