Job Information
Located in Behchoko, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Home Care is based at the Mary Adele Bishop Health Center and reports to the Regional Home and Community Care Coordinator. The aim of this position is to protect and restore the health of community members living at home with chronic illness; to provide wound care; to provide short term post- surgical/hospital care; to support frail elders living at home as well as their informal caregivers; to provide palliative care and to coordinate appropriate community based services for clients.
Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
The successful full scope completion of a Licensed Practical Nursing Program which includes the Advanced Assessment and Medication course including intramuscular and subcutaneous injections; and two (2) years of recent Acute Care LPN nursing experience in a medical, surgical or home care setting.
Proof of immunization in keeping with current public health practices is required.
Must be eligible for registration with the GNWT LPN Registrar.
Possess a Class 5 driver’s license.

Salary Information
The salary for this position starts at $40.91 per hour to $48.86 per hour (approximately $79,774.50 - $95,277) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $5,517.
