Labour Market Supplement
A recruitment and retention supplement will be offered to front line Nurse, Nurse Practitioner and Midwifery positions within the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority. The successful incumbent will receive a $6000 supplement upon hire and an additional $6000 supplement after completion of 12 months of continuous employment contingent on remaining employed in an eligible position for a further 12 months. This is a taxable benefit and will be subject to applicable deductions.

Job Information
Located at a Satellite office of the Inuvik Hospital and reporting to the Regional Manager of Primary Care, the Regional TB Elimination Clinical Nurse is a Licensed Practical Nurse(LPN) who will provide culturally sensitive care to the clients. Providing education, testing and treatment related to latent Tuberculosis (TB) to individuals, families, community groups within the health centers, client homes and other community facilities of Inuvik, and surrounding Beaufort Delt communities. The Regional TB Elimination Clinical Nurse will work closely with the Regional TB Nurse Specialist, Inuvik Regional Hospital (IRH) staff, Nurse in Charge (NICs) of each community, key staff at IRC, Chief Medical Health officer (CMHO), Communicable Disease Specialist-TB to carry out the Inuvialuit Settlement Region (ISR) TB Elimination Action Plan.
The incumbent will work out of Inuvik Hospital and implement the IRC TB Elimination Action Plan and it is expected that the incumbent will work collaboratively to ensure all work is completed in a timely manner. The incumbent operates within NTHSSA By-laws, Policies and Procedures, Union of Northern Workers (UNW) Collective Agreement and Territorial Government Legislation. This position is a partnership between the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) and the IRC to eliminate TB in the ISR funded by the Federal Government to address the high incidence of TB in the Inuit population.
Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
A Licensed Practical Nursing ( LPN or RPN) Certificate Diploma and 2 years of experience working in a Community Health Center or Public Health Clinic.
Additional Requirements:
Proof of immunization in keeping with current public health practices is required.
Valid Class 5 driver’s License.

The salary range for this position is from $40.91 per hour to $48.86 per hour (approximately $79,774.50 - $95,277.00) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $14,661.00.
