Amidst this backdrop, the Nurse in Charge (NIC) plays a pivotal role, overseeing the delivery of community health services. These services encompass a spectrum from non-emergency medical care to managing medical crises requiring swift decision-making beyond standard nursing protocols. You will spearhead nursing programs aimed at fostering community health and wellness. With a commitment to round-the-clock care, the NIC provides on-call coverage during evenings and weekends, ensuring prompt emergency nursing assistance.
This role demands a comprehensive skill set centered around advanced nursing knowledge and practice. This includes a profound understanding and application of nursing processes—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—as well as current nursing standards, including public health protocols, to ensure holistic patient care addressing physical, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs. Additionally, you must possess the ability to educate patients and their families on self-care methods and techniques when necessary. Lastly, effective supervision and support of staff are essential components of the role, requiring strong leadership skills.
To be considered for this role, you must have a successful completion of a Nursing Degree, 3 years recent nursing experience with at least 1 year in a northern health center and 6 months supervisory experience.

Labour Market Supplement
The successful incumbent will receive a $7000 supplement upon hire and an additional $7000 supplement after completion of 12 months of continuous employment contingent on remaining employed in an eligible position for a further 12 months. This is a taxable benefit and will be subject to applicable deductions.

Salary Information
The salary range for this position is from $56.29 per hour to $67.23 per hour (approximately $109,766 - $131,099) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $12,982.
