As the Medical Radiation Technologist and Laboratory Assistant you will provide health care services to adults and children on an inpatient/outpatient basis.  You will be an integral part of the healthcare team, acting as the first contact on laboratory and radiological related practices within the Fort Smith region and providing exceptional customer service to all clients.

You will work directly with patients and be responsible for the quality of results from all tests. You will be expected to have knowledge of laboratory medicine with a focus on laboratory functions, principles and standards of practices.  With this knowledge you will be able to produce high quality x-rays and efficiently operate a Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS). You will also support the health care team by collecting laboratory samples on patients and provide on-call coverage during the evening and rotating weekends.

To be considered for this role you will need:

  • A Diploma or Degree in Medical Radiation Technology with certification and registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT), and the completion of a Medical laboratory Assistant program, as well as two (2) years of experience; OR
  • A Certification from an approved Combined Laboratory / X-ray Technologist (CLXT) or Certified Combined Technician (CCT) program or Medical Laboratory Assistant Program, and 2+ years of experience.
