Job Information
The Government of Northwest Territories (GNWT) is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Business Analyst to join the Office of the Chief Information Officer team. Located in Yellowknife and reporting to the Information Systems Shared Services Team Lead, Business Analysis, this role is crucial in planning and executing business analysis for large, complex information systems initiatives. These projects involve the planning, development and implementation of information systems and solutions across all GNWT departments and Housing NWT. With project costs sometimes exceeding $3M, the impact of these initiatives carries significant organizational, financial, and reputational risk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the business analysis, requirements elicitation, and documentation for complex information systems projects.
- Ensure effective stakeholder management, business analysis, and requirements management, which will facilitate the development and operation of new or modified software, systems, processes, products, and services.
- Manage requirements through the full delivery and operational lifecycle of software, systems, processes, and solutions.
- Negotiate trade-offs within budgetary, technical, regulatory, and other constraints to ensure acceptable outcomes for stakeholders.
- Facilitate the collaborative creation and iteration of specifications and acceptance criteria for information systems.

Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
Completion of an undergraduate degree in computer science, management information systems or business with 3 years of relevant and progressive experience working as a business analyst delivering complex technology-enabled projects.
The following equivalencies will be accepted:
- 2-3 years College Diploma in Business Management or Computer Science plus International institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification and 4 years of progressive experience working as a business analyst delivering complex technology enabled projects.

Salary Information
The salary range for this position is from $59.62 per hour to $71.22 per hour (approximately $116,259 - $138,879.) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
