Daily COVID-19 Case Update – October 14, 2021

Case Counts as of 9:00 AM

YELLOWKNIFE, October 14, 2021 – The Office of the Chief Public Health Officer (OCPHO) is announcing 38 new cases of COVID-19 in the NWT since October 13. The total number of recent cases, since mid-August, has increased to 1,505. There are 373 active cases among residents in the NWT plus three(2) active out-of-territory cases. Of the remaining cases, 1,101 NWT residents and 19 out-of-territory cases have recovered, and there have been nine deaths.

Cases that are confirmed after 9:00AM may be communicated about if they present a risk to the public but are not included in this report.

The cumulative number of hospitalizations since the start of the pandemic is 53, of which 49 are associated with the current territorial COVID-19 Delta variant outbreak. 64% of the total hospitalized cases were not fully vaccinated. Cumulative ICU admissions have been 16.
