If a child tests positive with the At-Home rapid antigen test, it is recommended they self-isolate and book an appointment for a COVID-19 lab-based PCR test. Nonhousehold contacts do not need to isolate until a confirmed positive lab based COVID-19 test. However, household members who are not fully vaccinated or are the chosen care giver must self-isolate until further direction is provided by a healthcare provider after the additional PCR test.
This means if you are a non-symptomatic fully vaccinated household member of an initial at home positive rapid antigen test and can distance from your child while another member takes care of them you can continue to go to work. If a healthcare provider informs you that you must self-isolate or isolate then you must follow their direction.
For more information about self-isolation and COVID-19, please visit https://www.gov.nt.ca/covid-19/en/services/vaccination-testing/types-iso... Please note the confirmation lab-based COVID test should happen as soon as possible. If the At Home Panbio test is positive, the student will be prioritized for the next available testing appointment.
