Regional NWT CIMP project summaries
NWT CIMP funded projects address regional cumulative impact monitoring priorities of regulators, governments, and communities. These summaries highlight projects in various regions.
North and South Slave Regions
In 2020-21, NWT CIMP provided $345,660 to support five projects in the North and South Slave regions. Approximately 38 per cent ($132,400) of the funding was distributed directly to regional, community and co-management organizations. This year (2021-22), two projects are being supported.
Sahtu Region
In 2020-2021, NWT CIMP provided $238,400 to support two projects in the Sahtú Settlement Area. Approximately 19 per cent ($46,000) of the funding was distributed directly to regional, community and co-management organizations. This year (2021-22), five projects are being supported.
Inuvialuit Settlement Area
In 2020-2021, NWT CIMP provided $28,000 to support two projects in the Inuvialuit Settlement Region. Approximately 49 per cent (13,800) of the funding was distributed directly to regional, community and co-management organizations. This year (2021-22), no projects are being supported.
Gwich'in Region
In 2020-2021, NWT CIMP provided $104,320 to support four projects in the Gwich’in Settlement Area. Approximately 49 per cent ($13,800) of the funding was distributed to regional, community and co-management organizations. This year (2021-22), five projects are being supported.
Wekèezhìi Settlement Area
In 2020-2021, NWT CIMP provided $199,445 to support two projects in the Wek’èezhìı Management Area. Approximately 92 per cent ($183,000) of the funding was distributed to regional, community and co-management organizations. This year (2021-22), three projects are being supported.
Dehcho Region
In 2020-2021, NWT CIMP provided $232,945 to support four projects in the Dehcho region. Approximately 17 per cent ($38,445) of this funding was provided to regional and community organizations. This year (2021-22), four projects are being supported.
Multiple Regions
In 2020-2021, NWT CIMP provided $317,625 to support five projects that involved work in multiple regions. Approximately 31 per cent ($98,325) of this funding was provided to regional and community organizations. This year (2021-22), seven projects are being supported.
