About AME Roundup
Association for Mineral Exploration (AME) is hosting their annual Roundup event again this year – marking the 37th year for the conference. This year the theme is “Lens on Discovery” and is intended to offer an eye on the newest trends and opportunities, while exploring the technical highlights and successes in the mineral exploration profession/industry.
AME Mineral Roundup is one of Canada’s largest mining conferences that draw delegates from around the world, including GNWT staff representing a number of departments, and representatives from NWT Indigenous governments and development corporations.
GNWT Participation at AME Roundup
Participation at Roundup is important for our government. In recent years, the GNWT has had an enhanced presence at Roundup as a way to acknowledge the significant contribution mining makes to the NWT economy and to visibly signal political and organizational support for the sector.
Other benefits of GNWT participation include opportunities to strengthen partnerships with Indigenous governments, promote investment in the NWT, provide information about the realities of doing business in our territory, including regulatory requirements, and network with industry and other stakeholders.
The 19th Legislative Assembly has brought new leadership to our government and fresh perspective on many of the issues that are most important to our residents. One thing that remains the same, is the commitment from Cabinet to continue work to increase resource exploration and development across our territory.
