(November 6, 2013) - Mr. Speaker, effective and efficient government is one of this Assembly’s goals. One of the ways that the Department of Public Works and Services will be helping to support this goal is by hosting the 14th Project Management Conference from December 3rd to 5th. This conference draws together project management experts to share their experiences and discuss best practices and innovative approaches to managing infrastructure projects more efficiently and effectively.
YELLOWKNIFE (June 7, 2013) – The GNWT is on track to reduce the use of heating fuel in its buildings by 13.5 million litres by the end of 2013/14. This decreases greenhouse-gas emissions by more than 36,000 tons since the government first started tracking its fuel and greenhouse gas reductions in 2007.

(February 18, 2013) - Mr. Speaker, in support of this Government’s vision of an environmentally sustainable and prosperous Northwest Territories, the Department of Public Works and Services recently installed four more biomass heating systems in Fort Providence, Yellowknife, Behchoko and Fort Simpson.
