Tundra Science Camp is a summer outdoor environmental education program for high school students in the North Slave Region.
Sixteen high school students fly to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources' Tundra Ecosystem Research Station on Daring Lake, NT from the end of July to the beginning of August. The program runs every year. Students must submit an essay to be considered.
The Camp aims to expose students to Arctic ecology, and natural and human history. Participants work closely with scientists, environmental educators, on-site researchers and Dene elders. There is also opportunity for recreational activities including swimming, fishing, wildlife viewing, photography, storytelling and games.
