~17% of the NWT. Population at arctic tundra pond near Darling Lake recorded by P. Catling in Catling et al. (2019). This record included a recently emerged female with exuvia, which confirms breeding in the Southern Arctic Ecozone for the first time.

Although widespread in the Northwest Territories, it is uncommon. Hybrids with S. sahlbergi have been reported from northern Yukon (Cannings and Cannings 1997) and are to be expected in the Mackenzie delta region of Northwest Territories where the ranges of the two species overlap.
