Le document La voix du Nord, les eaux du Nord : Stratégie sur la gestion des eaux des Territoires du Nord-Ouest présente une stratégie nordique élaborée par des partenaires ténois dans le domaine de l’eau. Depuis sa première version publiée en 2010, la Stratégie a fait l’objet de trois plans d’action quinquennaux visant à orienter sa mise en œuvre.

Northern Voices, Northern Waters: NWT Water Stewardship Strategy (the Water Strategy) is a made-in-the-North strategy developed collaboratively with water partners in the Northwest Territories (NWT). Since the first version of the Water Strategy was released in 2010, three five-year Action Plans have been developed to guide the implementation of the Water Strategy.

In 2003, the Waste Reduction and Recovery Act (WRRA) was created to help keep waste out of Northwest Territories (NWT) landfills and off the land by the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) regulating the reduction and recovery of waste.
The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is developing a new Forest Act to amend and combine the existing Forest Management Act and the Forest Protection Act.
