Number of Occurrences

Data deficient. This northern flea is a parasite in the nests of ducks, geese and gulls. It can sometimes be present in enormous numbers (Harriman et al. Journal of Parasitology 97: 218-220 (2011)). The small number of occurrences is likely a reflection of insufficient collecting effort rather than of its true abundance. More data are needed before an accurate rank can be assigned to this subspecies of flea.
