First breeding record in NWT in June-July 2008 near Fort Liard (A144; P002); Multiple observations of species from the Liard Valley Long-term Monitoring Program during survey periods 2008 and 2014. In both years breeding evidence including nests were identified.(H307)

Status Rank Description: 
Species is becoming more abundant in Liard Valley. During 2008 surveys of the Liard Valley Long-term Monitoring Program species was first recorded in the NWT, species was found to be breeding and a nest and young were discovered. In 2014 a number of family groups were identified. Species is breeding and has a presence in NWT but the extent and population size remains unknown.
