Number of Occurrences

1 site according to P Catling (R158): Subspecies hyperborea has a generally restricted distribution being endemic to northern Canadian zone of Saskatchewan (Hooper 1969), northwestern Alberta (Acorn 2001) and the Fort Smith area of Northwest Territories. Of 22 localities in Northwwest Territories where Tiger Beetles have been found, this one has only been found in the vicinity of Fort Smith.;1 record known from 1 locality in NT (Fort Smith). Another 6 specimen records available from UBCZ collection, but with no location information other than NWT. Limited overall distribution and very limited known range in Northwest Territories. Ecology: found in dry sandy blow out dunes, often far from water; primarily a prairie distribtuion.
