Limited sampling effort, but appears to be more widespread. Distribution described as Nearctic. The species may also be present in Alaska, Yukon, the NWT, Nunavut, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Quebec, and Newfoundland (Babenko et al. 2019). Status Rank Description: 
Limited sampling effort, but appears to be more widespread. Note that some records of this species, especially northern ones, may not be E. comparata but E. erratica. As Christiansen & Bellinger (1980, p. 845) wrote, "the senior author's earlier arctic material identified as this species [comparata] belong mainly to the related but distinct species E. erratica." For instance, this is true for Babenko's (1993) record from Devon and Ellesmere Islands (Babenko & Fjellberg 2006, remark 193) (Babenko et al. 2019).
