Alaska to Newfoundland, south to Colorado, southern Illinois, Florida, and Cuba; Europe and Asia. In the NWT, the species has been recorded from Tuktoyaktuk, Norman Wells, Fort Simpson, and Yellowknife (Dondale et al. 2003, GBIF).

There are four records of this species in the NWT to date; one each in Fort Simpson, Tuktoyaktuk, Norman Wells, and Yellowknife (Dondale et al. 2003, GBIF).
