Limited sampling effort. Recorded almost all over the world but 'it is missing or, at least, highly uncommon in the tropics, where it was confused with other species' (Potapov 2001, p. 302). In Canada, the species has been recorded from the NWT, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland (Babenko et al. 2019).
