One record in NWT-NU checklist database (CWS): on Ekka Island on June 24, 2001 by Steve Moore.; A male and female were reported from Ekka Island in northwestern Great Bear Lake on by Steve Moore on 24-25 June 2001. This species breeds on the west and north coasts of Alaska and is a rare but regular straggler along the Pacific Coast, so its occurrence in this location is plausible. Although the birds were observed at length and described as “in perfect breeding plumage”, no detailed description of the birds was available.References: eBird. 2012. eBird: An online database of bird distribution and abundance [web application]. eBird, Ithaca, New York.
