Habitat
all kinds of perennial freshwater habitats, on various substrates, and most commonly in shallow water; Occurs in eutrophic and oligotrophic waters, small to large rivers, small to large lakes; tolerant of short terms of anoxia in perrenial ponds with organic substrates. Common in shallows (<10m) and deep (50m) waters of large lakes in silt, sand, or organic muds; can urvive short periods of anoxia, suggesting some tolerance to eutrophication.
