Habitat
usually collected by treading clumps of Carex or other emergent subaquatic vegetation (Equisetum, Typha, moss, or various shrubs) into shallow water along edges of lakes, bogs, slow flowing areas of streams, etc. Specimens are also frequently collected by sifting moist leaf litter, particularly of Salix and Alnus, but occasionally also litter of other trees and shrubs, and from moss found along the edges of fast flowing streams, springs, or splash zones of waterfalls. Specimens may also be collected from under stones in moist areas above treeline and from floating flood debris.
